中文域名开放 中国网站不担心
互联网名称与数字地址分配机构(ICANN)将允许网址用中文表示，从政府域名开始，不过这一变化不太可能马上对中国互联网行业的形势造成很大影响。中国约3.38亿互联网用户早已习惯用拼音拼写域名。
ICANN will allow Web addresses to be expressed in Chinese characters, starting with government domains, but the change is unlikely to have any big immediate impact on the landscape of the Chinese Internet, where some 338 million users have long been used to spelling domains in Pinyin.
当然，当前的罗马字系统在某些方面会导致一些域名令不谙中文的用户乍看之下大惑不解，比如51job.com，其域名来由是因为51的中文发音谐音“我要”。不过浏览量高的中国网站所有者认为，无论有没有中文域名的帮助，它们当前的域名和品牌都会持久流传。域名抢注等问题肯定会出现（或者竞争可能再度激化社交网站开心网(Kaixin001.com)和千橡互动(Oak Pacific Interactive)旗下同名网站Kaixin.com之争的余波）。举例来说，优酷(Youku)就声称其中文URL已经被人注册。不过以下网站似乎并不觉得这有什么大不了的：
Sure, the Roman letter-system has in some ways led the way to domain names that would at first glance seem puzzling to non-Chinese users, like 51jobs.com, which has its name because its pronunciation in Chinese sounds like 'I want jobs.' But owners of high-traffic Web sites in China think their current names and branding will stick, with or without Chinese character domains to help. Issues like domain squatting could of course be a problem (or perhaps competition could spring up reminiscent of the ongoing battle between social networking Web site Kaixin001.com and a rival Web site set up by Oak Pacific Interactive, Kaixin.com). Youku, for example, says its URL in Chinese characters is already registered by someone else. Still, the following Web sites don't seem to think it's a big deal:
在线零售巨头淘宝网(Taobao.com)：我们已经注册了多个中文域名，但尚未决定是否使用。可能会有专门抢注域名的“网络蟑螂”的问题出现，不过等到时候再处理好了。
Online retail giant Taobao.com: 'We have registered variations of Chinese domain names but have not made any decisions on whether to use them. There may be potential cases of cyber squatters but those will be dealt with when the time comes.'
视频网站土豆网(Tudou.com)：我们眼下没有购买中文域名的计划。大多数中国用户都习惯于拼出域名，Tudou也很好记，因为这个名字很有意思，同时我们也是最早的视频网站之一。获得中文域名不是我们优先或重点考虑的事情。
Video Web site Tudou.com: 'No, we don't have immediate plans [to buy a Chinese domain]. Most Chinese users are used to spelling domain names, and Tudou is an easy one to remember' because of its catchy name and because it was one of the earlier video Web sites. Getting a Chinese character name has not been 'a high nor serious priority for us.'
视频网站优酷网(Youku.com)：我们觉得有中文域名也不错，但并不是必需的，因为大多数用户都知道我们是Youku.com。同时，鉴于Youku是我们的中文名称的拼音，大多数用户都已经能找到我们了……“优酷”的中文域名此前已经被注册了，不过遗憾的是并非我们注册的。不过，如果价格合理，我们打算从现有的所有者手中买下这个域名。否则的话我们会等到这个名字可以注册的时候再去注册这个域名。
Video Web site Youku.com: 'We think it would be nice to have, but not necessary, as most users know us by Youku.com. Also, since Youku is the direct Pinyin of our Chinese name, most users can find us already ... Youku.com in Chinese characters was previously registered, but not by us, unfortunately.' Still, 'we plan to purchase it from the current owner if at a reasonable price. Otherwise, we would wait for it to be available to register this domain.'
