中国政府批准上海迪士尼项目

　　华特-迪士尼公司(Walt Disney Co.)宣布，在上海建设主题公园的计划已得到了中国中央政府的核准。
　　Walt Disney Co. announced that it has gotten the go-ahead from China's central government to pursue a plan to build a theme park in Shanghai.

　　尽管拿到正式的批文可能还需要一段时间，但这家加州娱乐业巨头已可以推进这个预计将成为中国境内最大外国投资项目之一的主题公园。估计这个主题公园的投资约为40亿美元。它也将让迪士尼直接进入一直对海外娱乐公司设置诸多障碍的庞大的中国市场。
　　The approval, though anticipated for sometime, will allow the Burbank, Calif., entertainment conglomerate to proceed with a project expected to be one of the largest-ever foreign investments in China. Estimates for the park's price tag are around $4 billion. It will also allow Disney to establish a direct presence in a market that, despite its size, has presented numerous hurdles to foreign entertainment companies.

　　上海市政府在周三上午的声明中证实了这个计划。这距离美国总统奥巴马11月15日访问上海只有不到两周的时间。
　　The Shanghai government confirmed the plan in a statement early Wednesday. The approval comes just ahead of a planned visit to the Shanghai by President Obama, scheduled for Nov. 15.

　　在上海建设主题乐园的计划已经讨论了近10年。今年1月，上海市政府向中央有关部门提交了建设迪士尼乐园的请求，表明已就该计划的基本框架达成了协议。如今，征地和获得其它部门必要批文的细节工作都可以着手进行了。
　　The Shanghai park has been discussed for close to a decade. A request to build the park was made by the Shanghai municipal government to central authorities last January, indicating that there was an agreement on the plan's basic outline. Now, details such as securing land and obtaining the necessary approval from other authorities can proceed.

　　迪士尼已在香港开设了一个主题公园。不过，将落户浦东新区的上海迪士尼乐园不但大得多，而且也直接进入了中国内地市场。中国大陆居民前往香港旅游必须办理签证或港澳通行证。
　　Disney already operates one theme park in Hong Kong. However, the Shanghai park, to be located in the Pudong district, will be much larger and be able to offer direct access to the local market. Mainland Chinese must obtain visas and special permission to travel to Hong Kong.
