So, would you please just say a bit about yourself?
J.M.: I'm from the state of Florida in America. I've been in China for about 2 years. You have a wonderful country, very beautiful place. And I'm right now teaching soft skills for business training and some business english as well, in China.
Ok, thank you very much for your wonderful introductory. Today we're having a topic on Dates. when we hear the word date, we normally think of the type of date that a yong guy and girl go on. But there are other types of dates such as a lunch date between collegues. Alright, so let's hear what Josh have to say about dates. Josh, could you tell us about the different types of dates in america?
J.M.: Well, you've mentioned alreay one very popular date, that is not a romantic date, it's a lunch date. For parents who have children, often times they'll set out a play date.
J.M.: Most of the time in English, there will be confusion on which date is romantic, which date is for business or for other reasons. So sometimes if we ask someone for a date, we would say a date date. A date date means a romantic date. So if I say "would you go on for a lunch date?" You can say "Is it a date date or is it a lunch date?" If I answer "oh, lunch date", then professional.
