2005年开始，小作文（即考研英语写作A部分）已经进行了三次考试。2005年是辞职信，2006年是请求信，2007年是建议信，那2008年呢？
一般而言，应用文一般分为公务信函和其他应用文。公务信函可以分为求职信（Letters of Applying for a Job）、辞职信（Letters of Resignation）、留学和奖金申请信（Letters of Applying for Admittance and Scholarship）、询问信（Letters of Inquiry）、投诉信(Letters of )等；其他应用文包括告示与通知（Notice and Announcement）、便条(Note)、备忘录(Memo)
根据三年内一般不重复的原则，2005年到2007年的三种类型的公务信函一般不会再考，可能会考的是余下的类型，下面，就可能考的求职信和询问信作简单的介绍。其他类型的模版，考生可以参考北京文都考研信息中心编辑的小册子《考研英语考前写作必备手册》。
求职信
通常包含三个部分：引言部分写明写信原因、具体谋求的职位、获得信息的来源（如：报纸广告、熟人介绍、网站等）；发展部分叙述自己能够胜任该职位所具备的条件，包括教育北京、工作经历、社会事件等。这部分内容要具体，不要空洞游说或者列举，要用事实说服。结尾部分主要是客套语，如请求及时回信、希望当面面谈、提供进一步接触的联系方式或指出附件中有相关的文件等。
求职信的语言应该严谨、规范、得体。下面提供一个求职信的模板，供广大考生参考。

询问信
询问信可以分为三大部分：引言部分自我介绍并讲明询问目的。发展部分是询问的主要内容，如果包括多个方面，为了让对方一目了然，也便于回答，在内容的安排上应该简明扼要，可以用数字列出具体问题，如first, second, third or 1、2、3。结尾部分真诚地感谢对方。
由于询问有可能给对方带来麻烦，所以措辞要谦虚、诚恳。下面提供一个询问信的模板，供广大考生参考。
