-- I think most people have probably heard of a smorgasbord before. But what was new for me was that there are five dishes. And there’s an order in which you’re supposed to have them or to eat them.

-- Here we are. Now this is the most important thing the herrings table. Because, we Swedes, without herrings, we, Scandinavian country, we couldn’t live. I mean, we eat herrings almost everyday. And now we’ll go on the second plate, which is fish. Different kind of salmon hot smoked salmon, ordinary smoked salmon, and marinated salmon. And these are different salads, you know, with shrimps and tongue and tuna fish,

-- Tongue of what? What kind of tongue?

-- Beef tongue.

-- Now, here’s different meat things. What is unique, that we have something that we have had, tradition, is horse meat. Did you ever eat horse meat?

-- Nope.

-- Now, we have reindeer and horse meat. Smoked ham, tongue, different kind of pates that we make, you know. Now, these are some typical things we always have on the smorgas. The of course, Swedish meatballs. This is the primc sausage. That’s a super quality of sausage. Goes always with smorgasbords. I mean, the whole way back. If you don’t have that on the smorgasbord, they ask, they’re saying “that’s not a smorgasbord.”
我们有驯鹿肉，马肉， 熏火腿，牛舌，各式各样的肉饼。 再来是瑞典式自助餐的必被菜肴。 当然就是瑞典肉丸子。这是一种上等香肠。王子香肠。它一向是瑞典式自助餐的必备材料。如果没有王子香肠，那就不算是瑞典式自助餐了。
【文化点滴】瑞典美食 Swedish Cuisine
瑞典的主食以薯类为主。肉菜、鱼等大多与面包、马铃薯搭配。马铃薯多为煮、烤等，或者搭配蔬菜。面包的种类很多，有燕麦、全麦粉，或与其他豆类粉混合使用。Sill拌鲱鱼 将鲱鱼、香味蔬菜用白醋拌在一起。也可拌成咖喱味、大蒜味和番茄味。配着煮好的马铃薯一起吃。北欧独特吃法：
芥末油拌鲑鱼 将鲑鱼用盐、胡椒、砂糖腌制后用芥末油和少许柠檬汁拌匀。
瑞典风味肉丸 将肉丸加入煮好的马铃薯块中，再用越橘酱汁拌匀。肉炒马铃薯 酱香肠和牛肉、猪肉和煮好的马铃薯切成丁，然后都放在锅里炒熟。
瑞典风味热狗 将面包稍微烤一下后，放上煮好的马铃薯泥、香肠、炸洋葱片、生菜、再浇上芥末油和番茄汁后，将面包卷起来。(待续)
