--I think you could just be plopped down right in the middle of the East Village and if you’re hungry, you throw a stone and you’ll go some place great to eat. The next time that happens, you throw another stone, go eat some place else that’s totally different, just as good, just as wonderful.
--Two Boots is a Cajun Italian restaurant (卡真意式餐厅) and it’s named after the geographical shaped of Italy and Louisiana.
--Our pizzas, which is what we’re really best known for, use a lot of Cajun ingredients on it. Like, we have one called a, a Bayou Beast that has barbecued shrimp and andouille which is a spicy Cajun sausage. We serve very spicy sauce here. We serve it like a Cajun tomato sauce.
--The melting pot of New York was always in this area, “Oh, you know, that’s the Lower East Side.” People start out here.
--It’s traditionally been a very, very poor area filled with tenement buildings, and as the, a lot of the immigrants have moved out, artists have moved in and, you know, hipsters. But, it’s still stuck with these old very, very tiny apartment, many of which either have no kitchens or primitive kitchens and so people treat restaurants here as their kitchens or as their living rooms because the apartments are so tiny and crammed with people to, to make it a kind of comfy, viable to, to live there. So, this restaurant culture sprung up that has, you know, fabulous, cheap places to eat. People sometimes think New York is an expensive place to eat in. it’s not at all, if you know where to go, yeah, you can eat cheaper in a restaurant than you can in your own apartment.
